The Orphanage and School
Washing Clothes
When my wife Martha saw the little
naked boy on the right who could not
walk upright because of a deformed and
bloody pelvis, we both were emotionally
traumatized. Martha gave him the only
thing she had in her purse that he could
use; three packages of crackers. He
took them and smiled and hobbled away,
holding up his hand as if to say thank
you. A few minutes later his brother and
sister came out holding up their hands...
begging for some more, and we didn't
have anything else....except the biggest
broken heart that I ever had.
Crossing the border at the Massacre River for
supplies...allowed twice per week if they have money...
The school started in 2005. No
desks, spurious supplies when
available.
As we start the help in October 2006 they buy school supplies,
makeshift desks, and shirts.
