SACRED AUTHORITIES- Highest authority being the current living prophet; all other prophets; what they call their "Standard Works"; (1) Book of Mormon (2) Doctrines and Covenants (a book that contains their numbered and dated prophecies and revelations) (3) Pearl of Great Price (4) Mormons also pay lip service to the KJV Bible but use "insofar as it correctly translated" as a way out when it conflicts with their other 'Standard works' or prophets. NOTABLE MORMON PERSONALITIES: (Joseph Smith, Jr.)- Founder, supposed translator of the Book of Mormon, "Glass looker" (Con man). Emma was his first wife. Killed in a gun battle while imprisoned in the Carthage jail that was stormed by an angry mob in 1844. He shot other men in self defense before he died. He was not a martyr. (Brigham Young)- Took the reigns when Joseph Smith was killed even though Joseph, in a manifesto, said his son would be next in line as heir to the priesthood. This caused a split. The Reorganized LDS church followed Joseph's son and the main body of LDS followed Brigham Young who led them to Salt Lake City. Brigham taught that Adam was God. (This is a heresy in the LDS today!) (Bruce R. McConkie)- The late Mormon "Apostle" who tried to organize and formulate LDS doctrine into one book, Mormon Doctrine. This modern capsulization pointed to the contradiction and changes within the history of LDS doctrine. Someone quipped about the Mormon church, "Yesterday's dogma is today's heresy." Senators Orrin Hatch, Harry Reid, Donnie and Marie Osmond, Butch Cassidy, CNN's Glenn Beck, Jack Dempsey, Baseball's Dale Murphy, Bay Buchanan, Governor Mitt Romney, Gladys Knight, JW Marriot of the Hotel fame. Infamously one Mark Hoffman was a forger who forged and sold to the Mormons some fake documents that they desperately needed for anything archaeological. When they found him out he bombed and killed two people. C. SOME MORMON BELIEFS: I. SOME BASIC MORMON THEOLOGY AND BIBLICAL CONTRADICTIONS IN PARENTHESIS: 1. God the Father "Elohim" has a physical body (cf Jn. 4:24), was once a man (cf Num. 23:19) and is now exalted to live on or near a star called Kolob. Elohim physically procreated our planet with his many wives. There are many gods in the universe (cf Deut. 6:4). 2. Mormons teach that we can become gods also. We are gods in embryo/ gods on an escalator (Is. 44:6 & 8, Deut. 32:39). We are saved and can become Gods (sic) by striving to live perfectly (cf Eph. 2:8-11) and then "exalted" to their highest heaven (celestial) by going through their temple ritual (Taken from the Freemasonry ritual). 3. Mormons claim to believe in a trinity, but when pressed it becomes evident that they separate God the Father (Elohim), God the Son (Jesus, who they believe was Jehovah in the old Testament), and God the Holy Spirit, into three separately worshipped gods makes them tritheistic. Believing that there are other gods and that we all can become gods makes them polytheistic. (Technically, a few worshipped gods in the foreground with other gods in some background is called henotheistic. ( cf Deut. 13:1-3 & 1 Cor. 8:5-6). 4. Jesus' major work of atonement was, according to the Mormons, in the Garden of Gethsemane where he sweat great drops of blood (1 Pet. 2:24). That, combined with the cross was only the beginning of the salvation process; the rest being left up to our own good works and temple recommend (cf 1 Jn 1:9). This Mormon belief is analogous to someone paying the college entrance fee and the rest of the financing being left up to the student- earned by making good grades. Christians would see Jesus as prepaying the entire scholarship- we love him for it and strive to make good grades to show it. II. SOME PECULIAR MORMON BELIEFS. According to the Mormons: 1. Jesus and Lucifer are brothers! (The Bible says Satan is a created and fallen angel; Jesus is God in the flesh and eternal- and also “Christ hath no communion with Belial” 2 Cor. 6:15) 2. Women may or may not be called up out of the grave by their secret temple name. Their heavenly standing is determined by their husband. 3. Mormons track genealogies so they can baptize the dead by proxy (cf Titus 3:9)since they haven't heard their "gospel". They claim 1 Cor 15:29 out of context to support their practice of baptism for the dead. 4. Blacks were made black because they dishonored themselves in a war between the followers of Jesus and the followers of Satan. Because of this the Blacks were denied the prized but falsely claimed Mormon priesthood until the revelations changed in 1978. 5. Mormons do not smoke, refrain from TV, do not drink coffee or tea. (yet Pepsi caffeine seems to be allowed since they now own stock in it!) 6. The Mormon God lives on a planet called Kolob with his millions of wives. They populated the earth with their spirit babies. D. SOME FALLACIES OF MORMON SCRIPTURES: Since the first 1830 copy there have been 4000 changes in the book of Mormon in an effort to get it to come clean. Although most of these are textual changes and bad grammar, some serious changes have been covertly effected to cover up the errors of the so called prophets and revelators throughout Mormon history. In many places Smith copied the King James Bible trying to pass it off as a new revelation. In the original Book of Mormon it was plainly evident where Joseph Smith was pitifully trying to emulate the "King James"/Elizabethan English and where he copied it from the Bible. The Book of Mormon is just plain illogical in many places: There has not been a single archaeological coin (per Alma 11) or any significant find to substantiate the BOM claims. The geography (rivers, etc) cannot be drawn out in a map to back the BOM. The population of the early Mormons could not have expanded at the rate needed to substantiate the claimed population of the supposed tribes. Compasses, horses, silks, silver (Ether 9ff) etc. was not known, invented, or found in the places claimed until centuries later. At Ether 15, a mans head was cut off, THEN he raised up on his hands ??? and struggled for breath ??? Many other problems are also evident but because space does not permit, they cannot be shown here. To capsulize a couple of them: The "Black Hole" in the Book Of Mormon: While Joseph Smith was supposedly translating (from behind curtains) the Book of Mormon from the plates, Martin Harris wrote it down on the other side. One night Martin's wife suspecting the fraud stole the only finished "book of Abraham" that the two had transcibed. Smith tried to recollect the arrangement of scores of the personal names within it and couldn't. The only alternative was for him to rewrite without the personal names just in case Mrs. Harris decided to return his manuscript and show his error. His rewritten copy changed such names like 'King John Doe' to just 'the King'. >He did not regard the Song of Solomon to be canonical in his retranslated Bible; so why did he copy from it profusely? >At Mosiah 21:28 the 1830 version read "King Benjamin". Why was it changed to read "King Mosiah" in a later version? Because it was found that king Benjamin was already supposed to be dead in an earlier chapter! The Book of Mormon copied the King James Bible in the following: That "Coincidentally" translated right into the Elizabethan english that was not developed until hundreds of years after the "Plates" were supposed to be written! (at one point he even copied Shakespeare) >Moroni chapter 10=1 Cor. 12:1-11; 2 Nephi 14=Is. 4; 2 Nephi 12=Is. 2; Mosiah 14= Is. 53; 3 Nephi 13= Mat. 6; etc. The Book of Mormon contradicts itself, Biblical scriptures and Mormon teachings and prophets in MANY other places, some follow: ONE GOD/TRINITY @ (Alma 11:27-44, Testimony of three witnesses in intro, Deut. 6:4, Mat. 28:19) PLURAL GODS @ (Doctrine and Covenants (D&C) 121:32, McConkie & Mormon Doctrine, Young taught Adam was God) JESUS BORN AT JERUSALEM @ Alma 7:10 //// JESUS BORN AT BETHLEHEM @ Matthew 2:1 POLYGAMY COMMANDED @ D&C 132:1 //// POLYGAMY CONDEMNED @ BOM Jacob 1:15 and in the New Testament. GOD IS A SPIRIT @ Alma 1826-28 & John 4:24 //// GOD HAS A BODY @ D&C 130:22 The BOM is said, infallibly, to contain "the fullness of the Gospel" yet it does not contain Temple ceremonies, Baptism for the dead, eternal progression to godhood, etc. Frankly, it does not teach Mormonism! It does teach condemnation of secrecy (Mor. 8:27, 40 cf Mat. 10:26), You must be born again (Mosiah 27:24-27 cf John 3:3,7), God is unchanging (Moroni 8:18, Malachi 3:6), and death seals mans fate (Mosiah 2:36-39 cf Hebrews 9:27). Even though the BOM is not inspired and complete false; it teaches more Christianity than it does Mormonism! Mormons get their twisted theology from their prophets and other books. The Doctrine and Covenants are full of false prophecies (cf Deut. 18:20-22 & Mat. 7:15) such as: 1. D&C 84 Temple to be built in Missouri in THAT generation. It was built in Salt Lake City. The temple lot splinter group sits on the proposed Missouri spot today, and would die rather than let the LDS have the property! 2. D&C 114 "Thus saith the Lord" a David Patten was to go on a mission trip the next spring. He died before he went! (Our Lord would have known this). 3. D&C 117 "Thus saith the Lord" Oliver Grainger was to be remembered forever and ever. No one does today - not even the Mormons! The scope of Mormonism is almost unfathomable. It is a fabricated and changing maze of pressured service, prophecy, rituals, and cartoon theology, the truth of which is solely dependant upon whether or not Joseph Smith was a true prophet. Every Mormon will testify to a "burning in their bosom" just as every Muslim, etc. will. Christians substantiate our feelings with fact. Mormons tell us to pray about the Book of Mormon to see if it is true but we should not pray about the Book of Mormon to see if it is true just as we would not pray to see whether we should steal. God has already told us about following false prophets that point us to other gods (Deut. 13:1-3). If we follow them, we get the same punishment as the prophet (Ez. 14:10). Mormonism is simply another Jesus, another gospel, and another spirit as prophesied by Paul (2 Cor. 11:4) and condemned by him at (Gal. 1:8-9). The pitiful fact is that Satan, through JOSEPH SMITH PREPETRATED THE BIGGEST SPIRITUAL HOAX EVER PULLED ON MANKING! CRITIQUE OF THE BOOK OF MORMON 1 NEPHI 1 Nephi 2:8 (p.4) And it came to pass that he called the name of the river, Laman, and it emptied into the Red Sea;... NO RIVER THEN OR NOW EMPTIES INTO THE RED SEA! 1 Nephi 2:14 (p.4) And it came to pass that my father did speak unto them in the valley of Lemuel, with power, being filled with the Spirit, until their frames did shake before him. (The date at the bottom of this page is estimated at about 600 B.C.) JOHN 7:39 SAYS THAT THE SPIRIT WAS NOT YET GIVEN! 1 Nephi 4:26 (p.9) And he, supposing that I spake of the brethren of the church...(Dated 600-592 B.C.) THE WORD CHURCH IS A GREEK WORD AND IS NOT FOUND UNTIL THE NEW TESTAMENT. JOSEPH SMITH CALIMED THERE WAS NO GREEK ON THE PLATES- Teachings of the Prophet Smith, p.299. 1 Nephi 19:2 (p.43) And I know not at the time that I made them (the Plates) that I should be commanded of the Lord to make these plates...NEPHI IS SOME SMART FELLOW! HE DID NOT KNOW THAT THE LORD WOULD LATER COMMAND HIM TO MAKE THESE PLATES. LUCKY FOR HIM THAT HE HAD ALREADY BEEN MAKING THEM ANYWAY! 1 Nephi 22:14 (p.51)...they shall fall into the pit which they digged to ensnare the people of the Lord. THIS CONTRADICTS MATTHEW 25:41 THAT SAYS HELL WAS PREPARED FOR THE "DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS." 1 Nephi 22:20 (p.52)...unto the fulfilling of the words of Moses which he spake, saying: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you, like unto me; his shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that all those who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people. (between 588-570 B.C.) HERE NEPHI SAYS HE IS QUOTING MOSES BUT INSTEAD OF QUOTING DEUT. 18:15-18, HE ABSENT MINDEDLY USES PETER'S PARAPHRASE AT ACTS 3:22. PETER HAD NOT EVEN BEEN BORN YET! 2 NEPHI 2 Nephi 1:14 (p.55)...ye must soon lay down in cold and silent grave, from whence no traveler can return; a few more days and I go the way of all the earth. IS PROBABLY TAKEN FROM SHAKESPEARES "HAMLET," ACT 3 SCENE 2, SHAKESPEARE DIED IN 1616; CENTURIES AFTER THE PLATES WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN WRITTEN AND BURIED! 2 Nephi 5:15-16 (p.66) And I did teach my people to build buildings and to work in all manner... of steel...which were in great abundance. V.16 and I, Nephi, did build a temple...after the manner of the temple of Solomon save it were not built of so many precious things; for they (the same materials) were not to be found upon the land. (Between 588-570 B.C.) THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS STEEL IN THIS PERIOD OF HISTORY! WERE THESE MATERIALS IN GREAT ABUNDANCE OR WERE THEY NOT TO BE FOUND? YOU CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS! ALSO NOTE THAT ONLY A FEW YEARS AFTER LEAVING JERUSALEM NEPHI SAYS THAT HE, WITH A MAXIMUM OF 50 PEOPLE-MANY CHILDREN- BUILT A TEMPLE LIKE SOLOMON'S, WHICH TOOK 150,000 WORKERS AND 30,000 OVERSEERS SEVEN YEARS TO DO IN SOLOMONS JERUSALEM! AMAZING! 2 Nephi chapters 12 through chapter 24 is copied from the KJV book of Isaiah chapters 2 through chapter 14! IN MANY PLACES, EVEN THE ITALICIZED WORDS WHICH WERE LATER ADDED TO THE KJV FOR CLARIFICATION ARE PLAGIARIZED INTO THE BOOK OF MORMON! 2 Nephi 30:6 (1963 and earlier versions, p.102)...save they shall be a white and delightsome people. COMPARE WITH THE POST 1978 VERSIONS OF THE SAME VERSE p.112;...save they shall be a pure and delightsome people. SINCE THE MORMON GOD CHANGED HIS MIND AND BEGAN TO ALLOW BLACK PEOPLE TO HOLD THE PRIESTHOOD IN 1978, THE BOOK OF MORMON WAS SIMPLY MANIPULATED TO REFLECT THIS CHANGE. MORMONS WILL CLAIM THAT "PURE" AND "WHITE" MEAN THE SAME THING. IF THIS IS TRUE THEN WHY DID THEY HAVE TO CHANGE IT? PURE GOLD AND WHITE GOLD ARE VERY DIFFERENT AND THE TWO WORDS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. 2 Nephi 31:6 (p.113) And now, I would ask of you, my beloved brethren, wherein the Lamb of God did fulfill (sic) all righteousness in being baptized by water. ACCORDING TO THE DATE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE, (Between 559-545 B.C.), CHRIST WAS BAPTIZED & CENTURIES BEFORE HIS BIRTH! JACOB Jacob 1:15 (p.118)...wicked practices, such as like unto David of old desiring many wives and concubines...; Jacob 2: 24...which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord. ALTHOUGH THE MORMONS DO NOT TEACH POLYGAMY TODAY, THEY DID AT ONE TIME, AND STILL BELIEVE IT WILL BE PRACTICED IN THE NEXT LIFE. COMPARE THIS WITH DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 132:1-4 "Verily, thus saith the Lord...I, the Lord, justified...David and Solomon, my servants, as touching the principle and doctrine of their having many wives and concubines...if ye abide not that covenant then ye are damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory". THIS PRESENTS AN MORMON GOD WHO CHANGES HIS MIND. The Biblical God says “I am the Lord Thy God….I change not”. Jacob 4:5 (p.124) Behold, they believed in Christ and worshipped that Father in his name, and also we worship the Father in his name. And for this intent we keep the law of Moses... THE DATE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE IS (Between 544-421 B.C). "CHRIST" IS A GREEK DERIVATIVE OF THE HEBREW WORD MESSIAH; HOW WOULD IT COME ABOUT THAT GOD WOULD HAVE THESE HEBREW PEOPLE BELIEVE IN A GREEK NAMED SAVIOUR WHO HAD NOT BEEN BORN YET, AND THAT THESE PEOPLE WHO DETESTED THE EGYPTIANS WOULD BE INSTRUCTED TO WRITE SUCH AN ACCOUNT DOWN IN A NEVER AGAIN HEARD OF "REFORMED EGYPTIAN" THAT WOULD LATER BE TRANSLATED BY JOSEPH SMITH INTO A PERFECT REPLICA OF ELIZABETHAN KJV ENGLISH??? ALSO, TO BELIEVE IN CHRIST AND YET TO BE UNDER THE LAW OF MOSES SHOWS THAT THIS AUTHOR DIDN'T HAVE THE SLIGHTEST IDEA ABOUT WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT! Jacob 7:27 (p.135)...Brethren, adieu. HERE IS A FRENCH WORD. FRENCH DID NOT DEVELOP FROM LATIN UNTIL ABOUT 700 A.D. ENOS Enos 1:21 (p.137)...the people of Nephi did till the land and raise...many horses. HORSES WERE NOT ON THE AMERICAN CONTINENT UNTIL AFTER THE SPANISH INVASION. THE SMALLER HORSES THAT HAD ONCE BEEN HERE HAD BEEN EXTINCT FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS. MOSIAH Mosiah 3:11 (p.152) "... his blood atoneth for the sins of those who have fallen by the transgression Adam." CONTRADICTS WITH THE LDS ARTICLES OF FAITH v.2 "We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgressions". Mosiah 7:27 (p. 162)...Christ was the God, the Father of all things,...and that God should come down among the children of men, and take upon his flesh and blood...THIS OVERTURNS THE LDS THEOLOGY OF SEPARATION OF THE SUBSTANCE OF THE GODHEAD. Mosiah 11:11 (p.168) And the seats that were set apart for the high priests...THEIR WAS ONLY ONE TEMPLE WITH ONLY ONE HIGH PRIEST WITH NO SEATS BECAUSE THEIR WORK WAS NEVER DONE. CHRIST ONLY FINISHED THE WORK AND SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER. Mosiah 13:34 (p.174)...God himself should come down among the children of men, and take upon him the form of man,...HOW IS IT THAT GOD, WHO ACCORDING TO LDS THEOLOGY IS ALREADY A MAN, WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE FORM OF A MAN??? Mosiah 21:28 (p.188)...that king Mosiah had a gift from God...IN THE ORIGINAL 1830 VERSION THE NAME "MOSIAH" WAS "BENJAMIN", WHEN IT WAS FOUND THAT BENJAMIN HAD DIED A FEW CHAPTERS BACK (6:5) IT WAS CHANGED TO "MOSIAH". MORMONS WILL ARGUE THIS IS JUST A TYPO ERROR BUT TYPESET IN THOSE DAYS HAD TO BE PULLED DOWN AND LOOKED AT FOR A MATCH. AN ERROR MIGHT HAVE BEEN A REVERSED CHARACTER OR TWO BUT NOT AN ENTIRE NAME! Mosiah 23:16 (p.190) And now, Alma was their high priest, he being the founder of their church. IN MATTHEW 16:18 CHRIST SAID HE WOULD BUILD HIS CHURCH (WHICH, OBVIOUSLY, WAS NOT YET FOUNDED). THE CHURCH THAT ALMA FOUNDED COULD NOT BE THE SAME AS CHRIST'S. Mosiah 27:13 (p.200)...For the Lord hath said: This is my church, and I will establish it: THE CHURCH WAS ESTABLISHED THAT WAS ALREADY THERE?? BESIDES ACCORDING TO MOSIAH 23:16 ALMA HAD ALREADY FOUNDED IT! Mosiah 29:14 (p.205)...faculties...MODERN WORDS LIKE THIS ARE EVIDENCE THAT THIS IS A MODERN WORK AND NOT ANCIENT AS THE MORMONS WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE. ALMA Alma 7:10 (p.224) And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God. MATTHEW 2:1 "NOW WHEN JESUS WAS BORN IN BETHLEHEM OF JUDEA..." THE MORMONS WILL TRY TO ARGUE THAT THE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM IS JUST A PORTION OF THE LARGER AREA OF JERUSALEM. JERUSALEM WAS A WALLED CITY; ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF THE WALLS WOULD BE SOMEWHERE ELSE! MICAH 5:2 PROPHETICALLY CONTAINED THE AREA TO EPHRATAH. WHEN BRUCE MCCONKIE'S BOOK "MORMON DOCTRINE" SAYS (P.471) THAT MARY WAS "... the spirit offspring of the Father" and then (p.822) "Christ is not the Son of Holy Ghost, but of the Father" HE BOTH CONTRADICTS THE Book of Mormon AND THE BIBLE, AND CREATES AN INCESTUAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FATHER AND MARY. IT ALSO REQUIRES A NEW DEFINITION TO THE WORD "VIRGIN". Alma 11:5-19 (p.235) THIS IS A STRANGE MONETARY SYSTEM. EVEN THOUGH THE INDIAN MONETARY SHELLS OF THAT TIME HAVE BEEN UNEARTHED; NOT ONE OF THE COINS MENTIONED (LEAH, SENUM, LIMNAH, SEON, ETC.) HAS EVER BEEN FOUND. YET EVERY BIBLICAL COIN HAS BEEN FOUND IN ABUNDANCE (WIDOW'S MITE, ETC.) Alma 13:20 (p.243)...Behold, the scriptures are before you; if you will wrest them it shall be to your own destruction. WHAT SCRIPTURES ARE BEFORE THEM? IT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE OLD TESTAMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT CHRIST; AND THE NEW TESTAMENT HAD NOT BEEN WRITTEN! Alma 46:15 (p.323)...; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ, took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come. (DATE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE IS 73 B. C.) CF. also ACTS 11:26... and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. Alma 56:56 (p.351) But behold, to my great joy, there had not one soul of them fallen to the earth;...A TWELVE YEAR WAR AND NOT ONE PERSON KILLED IS ABSURD! HELAMAN Helaman 3:7 (p.372) And there being but little timber upon the face of the land, nevertheless the people who went forth became exceedingly expert in the working of cement; therefore they did build houses of cement, in which they did dwell. "CEMENT" IS AN ANACHRONISM AND OF COURSE NO ARCHAEOLOGICAL TRACE OF IT HAS EVER BEEN FOUND ON THE AMERICAN CONTINENTS DATING FROM THIS TIME PERIOD. Helaman 3:16 (p.373)...and mixed with the Lamanites until they are no more called the Nephites, becoming wicked, and wild, and ferocious, yea, even becoming Lamanites. THESE PEOPLE WERE CONTINUALLY CHANGING THEIR RACE! HOW COULD THEY KEEP THEIR GENEOLOGIES STRAIGHT? ALSO, DID THEIR SKIN CHANGE COLOR EACH TIME THEIR NAMES DID? 3 NEPHI 3 Nephi-introduction to chapter 2 (p.409) -Conver5ted Lamanites become white and are called Nephites. IT APPEARS THAT THE AUTHOR WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE THAT THEIR SKIN COLOR CHANGES WITH THEIR NAME. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO RECORD OF THIS CHANGE OCCURRING AGAIN IN HISTORY. IT CERTAINLY DOES NOT HAPPEN TODAY WHEN DARK SKINNED PEOPLE ARE CONVERTED TO THE LDS BELIEF. 3 Nephi 13 (p.433)...take heed that ye do not your alms before men to be seen of them...THIS CHAPTER IS TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM THE OLD 1611 ENGLISH LANGUAGE THAT WAS USED IN THE KING JAMES VERSION (KJV)OF MATTHEW 6- THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT. 3 Nephi 13:13 (p.434) For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. THIS VERSE WAS PROBABLY ADDED AROUND THE FIFTH CENTURY AND IS NOT IN THE EARLIEST MANUSCRIPTS. NEWER VERSIONS NOTE OR ELIMINATE THIS INTERPOLATED VERSE. WE CAN ONLY DEDUCT THAT JOSEPH SMITH COPIED STRAIGHT FROM THE OLD 1611 ENGLISH LANGUAGE THAT WAS USED IN THE KING JAMES VERSION (KJV). 3 Nephi 18:39; 19:1; 19:15 (p.444-445) And while they were overshadowed he (JESUS) departed from them, and ascended into heaven.; And it came to pass that when Jesus ascended into heaven, the multitude did disperse,; And it came to pass that while the angels were ministering unto the disciples, behold, Jesus came and stood in the midst and ministered unto them. ACCORDING TO THESE PASSAGES JESUS HAD TO DESCEND FROM HEAVEN AT LEAST THREE TIMES. THIS DOES NOT MEET THE BIBLICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE SECOND COMING WHERE EVERY EYE WOULD SEE HIM (REV. 1:17); cf ALSO ACTS 1:11. 3 Nephi 21:2-7 (p.450) THESE SIX VERSES ARE ALL ONE SENTENCE. IN THE ORIGINAL 1830 EDITION, THIS SENTENCE CONTAINED 340 WORDS. THIS SEEMS LIKE EXCESSIVE USE OF WORDS ON PLATES THAT WERE SUPPOSEDLY COMPRESSED FOR BREVITY. THE JESUS OF THE BIBLE USED AN AVERAGE OF 19 WORDS PER SENTENCE. 4 NEPHI 4 Nephi 1:6 (p.465) And thus did the thirty and eighth year pass away, and also the thirty and ninth, and forty and first, and the forty and second, yea, even until forty and nine years had passed away, and also the fifty and first, and the fifty and second; yea, and even until fifty and nine years had passed away. THIS VERSE TAKES 57 WORDS TO SAY THAT 59 YEARS HAD PASSED. COMPARE THIS TO THE STYLE OF WRITING FOUND IN THE BIBLE. IT SIMPLY DOES NOT COMPARE. 4 Nephi 1:17 (p.466) There were no robbers, nor murderers, neither were the Lamanites, nor any manner of -ites; MORE CONFUSION. WE JUST READ IN 3 NEPHI 28:1-8 ABOUT THREE NEPHITES WHO WOULD NEVER PASS AWAY UNTIL JESUS CAME BACK; AND EVEN AT 4 NEPHI 1:20 IT TALKS OF A PEOPLE WHO HAD TAKEN THE NAME OF LAMANITES. CONTRARY TO WHAT HE SAYS; ACTUALLY HE WAS SURROUNDED BY ALL MANNER OF - ITES! MORMON Mormon- introduction to chapter 7 (p.480)- All who believe the Bible will also believe the Book of Mormon. THIS STATEMENT IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE. THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE THE BIBLE DO NOT BELIEVE THE BOOK OF MORMON. THE OBVERSE OF THIS IS THAT MORMONS WHO BELIEVE THE BOOK OF MORMON DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY DO NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE. THEIR ARTICLES OF FAITH STATE THAT THEY BELIEVE IT "AS FAR AS IT IS TRANSLATED CORRECTLY" (V.8) THE BOOK OF MORMON IRRECONCILABLY CONTRADICTS THE BIBLE AND CALLS MEN FOOLS WHO BELIEVE ONLY THE BIBLE. Mormon 8:12 (p.481) And whoso receiveth this record, and shall not condemn it because of the imperfections which are in it,; THIS IS A STRAWMAN ADMISSION TO THE ERRANT NATURE OF THE BOOK OF MORMON. THE GOD I KNOW WOULD NOT HAVE ALLOWED ANY SUCH ERRORS AS WE HAVE ALREADY DISCOVERED. FURTHER VERSES ATTEMPTING TO EXCUSE THE MISTAKES ARE MORMON 9:32-33. IF THE MORMONS TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE Book of Mormon IS INSPIRED AND THE "FULLNESS OF THE GOSPEL" THEN THIS VERSE ALONE WOULD SHUT DOWN THEIR TEMPLE CEREMONY. HERE WE HAVE SHIZ WITHOUT HIS HEAD, ORCHESTRATE A COORDINATED MUSCLE ACTION AND RAISE UP SO HE COULD FALL. THEN, HE STRUGGLED FOR BREATH; EITHER THROUGH HIS NECK?? OR THROUGH HIS HEAD?? (LAYING SEVERAL FEET AWAY!) WHY THEN DO MORMONS BAPTIZE FOR THE DEAD?? Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the restoration of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his prophets, and for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of new Jerusalem. Which city shall be built beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased. Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation. For verily this generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the Glory of the Lord, which shall fill the house. (This temple was never built in the generation that people would have understood Joseph to predict. It was built in Salt Lake City, Utah. At this time a Mormon splinter group called the "Temple Lot" owns that property and even though their church was recently burned to the ground by a fanatic, they would rather die than let the LDS get it!) July 12, 1843 D&C 132:1-4 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you my servant Joseph...I, the Lord, justified my servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as also Moses, David, and Solomon, my servants, as touching the principle of their having many wives and concubines-...if ye abide not that covenant then are ye damned. (A few years later when the U. S. government said they would be shipped off to Mexico if they continued to practice polygamy; the Mormon God changed his mind and comdemned polygamy.
